Since 2010

IT and security for your business.

We look after your IT support, Microsoft 365, servers, network and backups, and we regularly check that the backups can actually be restored. The same team handles cybersecurity, the use of AI in your company and the 3CX phone system. For those who need it, we also prepare the move to post-quantum cryptography.

Everyday problems

Things we often hear in a first meeting.

None of these problems is rare, and all of them can be solved.

  • “We call support and nobody answers.”

Or they answer and open a ticket nobody looks at again. Meanwhile, someone is stuck without email, without a printer or without the invoicing software.

  • “We have backups. I think.”

If you have never tried restoring a backup, you don’t know whether it works. Many companies only find out that the backup was incomplete, encrypted by the attacker or stored on the same disk on the day they need it.

  • “Our staff already use AI. With company documents.”

Proposals, contracts and customer data pasted into ChatGPT and similar tools, on personal accounts, with no rules. Nobody allowed it, but nobody forbade it either.

  • “What if tomorrow every file is encrypted?”

A ransomware attack rarely starts on the day the message appears on screen. It often starts weeks earlier, with a reused password or a forgotten remote access. How quickly the company gets back to work depends on what it prepared beforehand.

  • “We were told our encryption will stop being secure.”

That is true. The encryption that protects VPNs, certificates and signatures today stops being secure once a quantum computer can break it, and anything copied today could be read then. The new standards have already been published; the question is where to start.

  • “The phone system isn’t connected to anything else.”

It works on its own: it doesn’t identify the customer, it isn’t integrated with Teams, it logs nothing in the CRM, and whatever is agreed on a call is lost when you hang up.

The foundation

IT support for businesses

Since 2010, Werk has looked after IT for small and mid-size companies, as if it were their own IT department. We are not a generic support line: we know your computers, your people, your suppliers and the way your company works.

IT support for the whole team, Microsoft 365 set up and secured, servers, network and Wi-Fi that work, backups with tested restores, staff joining and leaving, dealing with suppliers and even office moves. Werk is a certified Microsoft partner.

It is the basis for everything else. There is no point securing or modernising systems that nobody maintains.

Just need one-off help or a repair? See Support and repair.

Plus four more areas, with the same team.

01

Cybersecurity and continuity

How well a company recovers from an attack depends on what it prepared beforehand.

Inventory, backups that cannot be deleted, multi-factor authentication (MFA), updates, a response plan and exercises, so everyone knows what to do and in what order each system is recovered. We also help answer customer questionnaires and prepare for NIS2 when your customers ask for it.

Cybersecurity and continuity

  • 02

    Artificial intelligence

We help you decide where AI is worth it and where it is better not to use it, and we write usage rules people understand. When documents must not leave the office, we install and maintain private AI running on a machine in your company.

  • 03

    3CX

Certified 3CX partner. Installation, support and migration of the phone system, integration with Microsoft 365, Teams and the CRM, and 3CX’s own AI features: transcription, summaries and automated answering.

    Post-quantum cryptography

For those who need it. A survey of the cryptography your company uses, priorities, a migration plan and follow-up with vendors. All in writing, in one version for management and another for the technical team.

How we work

From the first call to everyday support.

The process is the same whether we take over all your IT or run a specific project.

01

First meeting

We listen to what is going wrong and what worries you, with no commitment and no jargon. By the end, you know whether we can help and how.

02

Assessment

We look at what is there: devices, accounts, network, backups, licences, contracts and risks. We put what we found in writing, including what is fine.

03

Plan

The priorities, explained simply: what to fix now, what can wait and what is not worth doing.

04

Implementation

We do the work with minimal disruption, out of hours when needed, and document everything so nothing depends on one person’s memory.

05

Ongoing support

After that, we stay with you: IT support, maintenance, periodic reviews and, when the next question comes up, someone who already knows your company.

Why Werk

What sets us apart.

  • The same team for everyday IT and for projects

The people who handle your IT support and backups are the people who plan your AI, continuity and post-quantum work. We don’t pass the work to consultants who have never seen your network. A cryptographic inventory, for instance, is done far better by people who already know your certificates, VPNs and servers.

  • IT for SMEs since 2010

Werk started out looking after IT for small and mid-size companies, and still does. We know the unglamorous work that keeps a company running, and our newer services build on it.

  • Certified Microsoft partner and certified 3CX partner

Microsoft 365 and the phone, the two tools most companies use all day, are handled by a team certified by both vendors.

  • Greater Lisbon, in Portuguese and English

We work across Greater Lisbon (Lisbon, Sintra, Oeiras, Cascais and Amadora), in Portuguese and English. Useful for companies with international staff or owners.

  • Plain explanations, and technical detail for those who want it

Management gets the decisions explained without acronyms; the technical team gets the standards and the criteria. The plan is the same, written for both.

  • We tell you what not to do

Sometimes the best advice is not to buy the tool, not to migrate yet, or not to put that document into a chatbot. We would rather tell you before you make an expensive mistake.

The team

You always speak to the same people.

No call centre and no different technician every time. We are a small team, so whoever answers already knows your company.

How pricing works

A monthly fee per user or per device.

Everyday support (IT support, maintenance, backups, Microsoft 365) runs on a monthly fee per user or per device, set after we have seen your setup. One-off work, such as projects, migrations or surveys, is quoted separately, at a fixed price or for the time spent.

What is usually included

  • IT support for your team
  • Maintenance of computers, accounts and network
  • Backups with tested restores (within the agreed scope)
  • Microsoft 365 management, if you have it with us
  • A contact person who knows the company

What is usually excluded (unless agreed)

  • Buying hardware and software licences
  • Large projects (system migration, new office, post-quantum cryptography, private AI)
  • Work outside agreed hours, if not included
  • Major incident response beyond the contracted plan

After the assessment you get a written proposal with what is included, what is not, and the terms. No lock-in period.

For decision-makers

You don’t need to understand servers or algorithms. You need answers to simple questions: if our systems stop tomorrow, how long are we out of work? Who has access to our data? Are our staff putting confidential information into AI tools? Will the encryption we use keep holding?

Werk answers in writing, in a form that can be read in a meeting, and tells you what should change first.

Start with everyday IT

For the IT manager

Cryptographic inventory and CBOM, prioritisation by data lifetime and exposure, ML-KEM (FIPS 203) for key establishment, ML-DSA (FIPS 204) and SLH-DSA (FIPS 205) for signatures, LMS and XMSS (NIST SP 800-208) where state management is feasible, hybrid key exchange testing and vendor follow-up.

On continuity: immutable backups with restore tests, response plans with recovery order and tabletop exercises. On AI: local models with RAG and inherited permissions.
